Meal Plans

How does a meal plan work?

The meal plan covers the actual number of weeks that classes are in session during the fall and spring semesters. Residents experience unlimited access to the dining hall. Flex Dollars associated with the meal plans expire at the end of the semester. Flex Dollars offer an easy and flexible way to pay for your campus food purchases in the Dining Hall and Java City. It’s safe – no need to carry cash on campus. And it’s easy- access the account through your ID card – just scan and go!

Who should purchase a meal plan?

Whether you are a resident on campus, a commuter, a member of the faculty or staff, or a resident of the city of Pikeville you will save money and will benefit from purchasing a meal plan. Anyone can purchase meals for the Dining Hall and flex dollars.

Who is required to purchase a meal plan?

A meal plan is required of all resident students.

How do I sign up for a meal plan?

Sign up for meal plans by visiting the Office of Student Services in the Administration Building.

I have special dietary needs. What do I do?

We will work with you to meet your needs. If you need assistance or someone to speak with, please contact Jessica Buchanan in the dining office to schedule a on-on-one meeting. We are willing and able to accommodate students with special dietary needs as prescribed by their doctors. Consequently, no exemption from the meal plan will be granted unless the College and the student’s physician agree that dining services is incapable of supplying a specific diet. Applications for exemption from the meal plan are available at the Office of Student Services, and should be returned two weeks prior to the beginning of the semester.
